Role: Junior Social Media Executive US

PokerNews is looking for a US-based, motivated and creative Junior Social Media Executive to join our dynamic team. As a key player in our social media strategy, you will be responsible for managing and executing engaging and strategic social media campaigns to enhance our brand presence within the poker community.

You’re deeply entrenched in the poker community and are the embodiment of Flutter’s “Passion for Players” core value. With your deep interest in poker, you’re able to captivate, engage, and entertain the poker lovers by turning the PokerNews social media channels into the one-stop-shop for all things poker. You have your finger on the pulse of the poker industry and are up-to-date with all the ins and outs.

As a Junior Social Media Executive, you’ll create compelling content that connects with players, enthusiasts, and stakeholders around the globe. This position offers a stepping stone for individuals who are passionate about both social media and poker, providing a platform to contribute innovative ideas, and embark on a rewarding career journey in the realm of digital marketing and poker.

Junior Social Media Executive US - Key Responsibilities

• Support the digital media team in developing and implementing innovative social media strategies that align with PokerNews' objectives and resonate with the poker community.
• Assist in the creation, scheduling, and posting of high-quality and engaging content across various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more.
• Monitor social media channels for trends, news, and relevant conversations within the poker industry, and proactively engage with the audience to foster community growth.
• Collaborate with the content team to identify and curate shareable content, including articles, videos, and graphics, for use on social media channels.
• Respond to comments, messages, and interactions from the audience in a timely and professional manner, addressing inquiries and concerns as needed.
• Assist in tracking and analyzing social media metrics, producing regular reports to assess the performance of campaigns and content, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Contribute creative ideas for social media campaigns, contests, and partnerships to increase brand visibility and engagement.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, social media developments, and emerging platforms to suggest new strategies and tactics for reaching our target audience.
• Collaborate with design and video teams to create eye-catching visuals and graphics for social media posts.
• Occasionally attend live poker events to capture on-site content and engage with the community as required.

Who are we looking for

You have a passion for poker and are up to date with the ins and outs of the American poker landscape and its audience. You know the names, you know the streams, and you’re in the middle of it. On top of that, you have a passion for social media and are up-to-date with the latest trends and changes of current and future platforms.

Role: PokerNews Live Reporter

PokerNews is looking for interested writers to join its team of live reporters.

Our live reporters travel the globe to bring fans live coverage of poker’s biggest events. The PokerNews team is the exclusive live reporting partner of the World Series of Poker and an official live reporting partner for PokerStars and many other events worldwide.

We are accepting writing samples from interested writers. If this sounds right for you, jump on the opportunity to learn from our team of experienced professionals in an exciting job that will help take your writing to the next level!

The Ideal Candidate

• A passion for poker and its players
• Solid communication skills in English (verbal and written)
• Able to work independently and be self-motivated
• Able to adapt and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Experience is great, but we train motivated candidates

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide real-time coverage of live or online poker events and series
• Work in conjunction with our editorial team to preview and recap events daily
• Conduct interviews with winners and other notable poker players
• Other opportunities to contribute editorial coverage to PokerNews

If you’d like to see what a live reporter does, check out our coverage of the 2023 WSOP. Highly motivated and creative writers with a passion for poker are encouraged to send in writing samples, and you must be 21 or older.

What's In It For You?

Live reporters are compensated with a day rate on a per-event basis. You'll join a team that travels worldwide all year long to bring live updates to our readers. Additionally, PokerNews compensates live reporters for their travel time, accommodations, and living expenses throughout events.

How To Get Involved

If you think joining the PokerNews live reporting team might be right for you, send a writing sample that meets the following criteria:

• No more than 500 words in length
• Answer the prompt: “Who should be the next player elected to the Poker Hall of Fame?”
• Your writing sample should be submitted in Word or PDF format
• Include your name. Other contact information is not necessary until later in the process, and we will respond via email
• Please do not submit a CV/resume until requested
