Santhosh Suvarna is a successful businessman with a penchant for high-stakes poker tournaments. Suvarna has amassed over $5.7 million in live cashes, with most of that impressive sum coming from events played from 2022 onwards.
Suvarna lives in Bangalore, India, and his first four live results were from tournaments hosted in his native India. The largest score was the equivalent of $8,839 back in 2020. However, since 2022, Suvarna has become a familiar face in the world's biggest buy-in events worldwide.
An eighth-place finish in a $75,000 buy-in Triton Poker Super High Roller Series event in Cyprus in September 2022 netted Suravana $245,000. That princely sum remained a career-high for only seven months because Suvarna finished fourth in another $75,000 buy-in Triton event, this time in Vietnam, which earned him $628,000.
Suvarna was back in Cyprus two months later, where he cashed in five high roller events, including winning the $25,000 GG Super Million$ Live for $700,000.
Several more six-figure hauls followed before Suvarna enjoyed his first seven-figure score. He finished third in a $125,000 buy-in Triton Super High Roller Series event in Monte-Carlo and saw his bankroll swell by $1,772,000.
In December of 2023, Suvarna entered the $1,000,000 Big One for One Drop during the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas.
At his current pace, Suvarna will be the biggest live poker tournament winner from India in a matter of months.
